Basic Yoga: This mellow, flowing format draws from several traditional styles of yoga including:
Vinyasa, Iyengar and Ashtanga. A nice of blend of movement and longer-held asanas (poses). We
focus on learning traditional yoga postures, pranayama (breathwork) and building our strength,
flexibility, focus and alignment to create a well-rounded yoga practice. Beginners welcome!
Flow I/II Yoga: This is a nice mix of our Basic Yoga class and our Flow Yoga class. The focus is a little
more on vinyasa (movement with the breath) than our Basic Yoga but is still very much focused on
alignment and learning the traditional standing, seated, and balancing postures. Like all of our classes,
safety is a main priority and Pranayama (breathing exercises) is regularly introduced and constantly
used. Beginners welcome!
Flow II Yoga: Movement with the breath. A fun, flowing yoga class that smoothly moves from posture
to posture using your own breath as the pace. Based on various versions of the sun salutations, this
format is also known as vinyasa yoga. Please try our Basic Yoga or Flow I/II Yoga until you feel
comfortable with the basic postures and flowing sequences before trying this class.
Dynamic Flow: Very intense vinyasa-style yoga. This class is suitable for people accustomed to Flow
yoga who want an intense, invigorating workout to align, strengthen, and stretch the body. We will
begin to practice deeper inversions and fun arm-balances. Because this class is not suitable for every
body, please try Flow yoga or Basic/Flow for a few weeks (or until your body feels used to it) before
trying this class. Like in any yoga class, please be patient with your body and always honor your
limitations.
All of the yoga classes:
--are likely to introduce Pranayama (breathwork) and Meditation (centered mindfulness) along with the
physical postures of yoga. If you have questions about any of our classes, please call or email Sara
Hawson. Also, please don't hesitate to approach your yoga instructor with
questions/comments/concerns/compliments before or after class.
--end with a final relaxation, also called Shavasana. Please plan on staying for the entire practice, even
if your body/mind is not used to fully resting. Over time, it will become one of the most beneficial parts
of your yoga practice. Thank you and Namaste'.
